Keeping a distance
Our LED sensors of the AWL series are used in conjunction with our SGA3000 or MGC1000 controllers and hydraulic or electromechanical actuators for strip centre control systems.
Measuring system AWL
Two LED elements (transmitter) and two elements with silicon photodiodes (receiver) cover a total viewing range of 350 mm to 2100 mm, in which the strip edges can be detected without having to move the individual modules.
The LEDs operate in the near infrared range. The silicon photodiodes are arranged in the receiver at a distance of 0.2 mm from each other. Extraneous light and passline fluctuations do not influence this measurement!
Depending on the version, distances between transmitter and receiver of 3000 mm can be realized. The effective strip detection range per receiver element is between 450 mm and 900 mm, depending on the version. Blow-off devices in front of the transmitter and receiver ensure a clear view at all times.
